Surfing the Net I came across a story titled “Man Arrested in Texas trying to Cash $360 Billion Check”. Yes 360 Billion. With 10 zeros at the end. The man told the tellers that the his girlfriend’s mother wrote him the check to start a record business. The bank contacted the girlfriend’s mother who contradicted the man’s story. No surprise she did not write the check. Apparently the man stole the check and forged the signature. OK if you are going to forge a personal check, how about a less suspicious amount? Do banks in Texas routinely see personal checks with 10 zeros on it? Did he think his girlfriend’s mother actually had $360 Billion in her account? The man was charged with forgery and carrying a weapon along with two ounces of marijuana. That might explain his mental condition when he thought of this well planned scheme.
