Watching TV with Hulu

I am on a business trip to Austin this week. Normally, when I travel I take some DVDs with me to watch on my computer while I wait at the airport or in the hotel. I have a lot of DVDs I received from Christmas I never got around to watching until I travel. This time I did not bring any DVDs with me because of a new site called Hulu. Hulu is a site that has a collection of tv shows you can watch online. Its like itunes except you don’t need to download anything to watch.
Hulu is in beta mode and you can apply to use the beta version. I’ve been using Hulu for a few weeks and it has been great. There is a large collection of new and current shows from Fox and NBC among others. Shows I have been watching include The Office, Arrested Development and Celebrity Apprentice. The video and audio quality is very good. Right now its free, but I don’t know if it will be on a subscription basis when it goes live. Half hour shows are about 20 minutes long and 40 minutes for hour long shows. There is a 30 second commercial at the beginning, and several 15 second commercial, but that’s it, so you can watch 3 sitcoms in an hour. Give Hula a try. As long as you have a decent Internet connection, you can watch TV anytime and anywhere.
