Anniversary of the Blog
Feb 13th, 2008 by alyoung
Today marks the one year anniversary of this blog. In one year I have made 127 posts. Here is my first post. I followed that up with a Valentine’s day post. Check it out if you still need a Valentine’s day gift. When I started blogging I did not know where it would lead or if I would keep it up. However, I have been able to blog for a year, and I discovered I enjoy it a lot. Most of the time I have been writing for a small, but loyal group of family and friends. Thank you for reading and for your support of this blog. When I started blogging, I mostly blogged about real estate or finance related subjects, but over the year I branched out into blogging about whatever I thought was interesting such as fine dining, sports, or family. The general rule of a successful blog is to be focused on one subject to build an audience, but I obviously have not followed that rule. Many readers who came here for my real estate related topics wish I would continue to write about real estate, but this is my personal blog. I write mainly for myself. Its therapeutic, and I enjoy it. So, visit more often. I will eventually hit a topic you are interested in, and you may learn something along the way.
Looking back of my old posts, I think my writing has improved over the past year. Now my writing is good enough to be featured on not only a popular blog, but one of the most prolific blog today, John Chow Dot Com. Just a few days ago, I was allowed to guest blog on John’s site. That was a big thrill to be able to write for a big audience. While I enjoy writing for myself and a small audience, it is always nice to reach a mass audience with your work, and to receive positive feedback. The positive response I received has encouraged me to be more active with my blogging, even though I am much busier than I was a year ago.
Thanks again to my loyal readers, and to the new visitors from John Chow Dot Com. If you enjoy what you see here, please subscribe by RSS Reader, or email subscription.
Congrats on your one year anniversary!
