New Year’s Resolutions
Jan 9th, 2008 by alyoung
One week into the New Year, its time to make some resolutions for 2008. Generally, I don’t like making resolutions. Often times they are too ambitious, and resolutions have a negative reputation of breaking bad habits. I prefer making goals instead. Its more encouraging to pursue goals instead of breaking bad habits. Nevertheless, I will allow myself a few modest resolutions.
- Exercise regularly: The key here is consistency. Part of 2007 I exercised very regularly, and other parts of the year, I did nothing. I need to be consistent throughout the year, even if it means just exercising for half an hour a day. I need to exercise 3-4 times a week regularly.
- Being on Time: Someone once said, “half the battle in life is just showing up”. I would add you need to show up on time. I have talked about the importance of being on time before, and I think we have done a good job as a family to be on time most of the time. However, there is always room for improvement as it is easy to fall back into the bad habits of being late if we are not careful.
- Moisturize More Often: As I get older(over 35), my skin is taking a beating due to age, and exposure to the elements(heat and wind). To prevent dry skin, and premature aging, I need to moisturize more often and thoroughly. I have been lax in this area, and I need to improve if I want to preserve my skin.
I have set several other personal, financial, and business goals, but if I can just exercise regularly, be on time, and keep my skin smooth, it will go a long ways towards achieving those goals.
