Dine About Town

January is traditionally the month we eat out a lot because of Dine about Town. Dine about Town is an event which many restaurants in San Francisco participate in. January is typically a slow month for tourism and restaurants after the holiday rush. So, in order to encourage people to dine out, restaurants participating in the Dine about Town program offer special lunch and dinner meals. Some restaurants offer only lunch or dinner, but most offer both. For a set price of $21.95 for lunch, and $31.95 for dinner, you get a 3 course meal. The 3 course consists of an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. Usually, you have a choice of 2 items for each. The selection is somewhat limited, but you do get to try a new restaurant at a very reasonable price.
We have been taking advantage of Dine about Town for many years now. Usually, we go out 3-4 times with different groups of people, and get to try different restaurants we have heard about. And its always fun to go out with a group of friends for dinner. The hard part is finding a date and a place where everyone can get together. Unlike past year’s Dine about town lasted the whole month, this year it only lasts for 2 weeks from January 15-31. This poses an even harder scheduling task to get in all our dinners with our regular groups of friends. This year’s list of participating restaurants seem to be more limited, but you are sure to find one that you have not been to before. So, if its been awhile since you had a date night, or have been out for a good meal, plan ahead and try out Dine about Town.
