Shaving Focus Group

I previously wrote about a website called FindFocusgroups. Find Focus Groups is a site where you can find all the opportunities in your area to participate in surveys or focus groups and get paid for it. You can easily apply online for all the focus groups you qualify for, and they will contact you if you are chosen.
This week I got picked for a focus group that will start in November testing razors. This is right up my ally as I have been shaving since I was 14, and I have used pretty much used all the different razors in the market. Financially, this survey is not as lucrative as other ones I have done. It does pay $100, and most groups pay between $75-$200 for a 1-3 hour survey. However, I have to go to San Francisco 3 times over the next month to pick up a new razor and turn in a questionnaire for the old one I have been using. I don’t get to ride BART for free anymore, so after that expense I will only net about $70. And it takes over a month to complete.
I do have appointments in San Francisco anyways in the next month, so I will try to time those appointments to pick up my razors on the same day. So, I would have had to take the BART anyways. Even factoring in the BART expense, it is still worthwhile. I am still getting paid about $70 for doing something I would normally do for free each day anyways, shaving. And the razor company gets the benefit of feedback from an expert at shaving and men’s razors. A win-win situation for all.
