Back to School

One of the milestones in a child’s life is the start of school. This week marked that milestone for my oldest son Marcus as he started kindergarten. It was an exciting time, and a pretty easy transition for him. Having gone to preschool for the last two years certainly helped with the transition. We are lucky to have just a 5 minute walk to Marcus’ new school. Here are some pictures from the first day of class.
Old Friends
I guess its an emotional time for some moms as their “baby” is going off to school. As I was leaving school, I saw one mom lingering and looking into the classroom. She was sniffing, and tearing up. I tried to make light of the situation with a joke. I said to her with a smile “It’s only kindergarten. Its not like they are going off to war…..That’s next year.” She just stared at me for a second and ran off without saying a word. What did I say?
