Time to Study…For Football Season

Over the weekend, I saw some exhibition football games on TV. Even though it is summer weather of over 80 degrees outside, the start of pre-season football signals that summer in about to end. For many, it means going back to school. It is also a signal for me to begin to study. For the start of the NFL and college football season. I wrote of TicketReserve as not just a great way to get hard to get tickets to sporting events, but also a way to make money using your knowledge of sports. Here is my earlier post on how to play the ticketreserve market for profit.
One of my tips is to play the market which would give you the best chance for profits. One profitable market is the college football market. Currently, there is only one market open, the 2008 BCS National Championship market. This gives you the right to purchase tickets to the BCS Championship game if your team you purchased an option on makes it. There will also be a market for BCS bowl games that has not opened yet. I will be investing in both of these markets, and the key is to buy early. So, I need to study the top teams in college football now.
Another profitable market to trade in at Ticketreserve is the NFL Super Bowl market. However, this market has been open for a awhile now, and the prices for the top teams have skyrocketed. There is still opportunities to trade profitably in this market, but prices are much higher now, and I missed the opportunity to get in early. Had you able to secure the rights to the top NFL teams at the opening prices, you could have sold it at a very nice profit already, even before the football season begins. Still, I will be following this market for opportunities, so I have to study this as well.
My study of the NFL upcoming season is not only for the ticketreserve market, and because I am a fan, it is also for the start of the fantasy football season. I am not a big participant in fantasy football leagues, but my wife is. She is sometimes in several leagues from her former place of employment. My participation is by helping her. If she wins, I win. The draft will be in about 3 weeks, so we have to prepare now.
We are taking a few days off to go to Carmel without the kids. We will need to spend some of our time reading pre-season football publications, and combing the Internet for tips that could make us a profit in the ticketreserve and fantasy football markets over the next few months.
