Trip to Sedona
Jul 31st, 2007 by alyoung
Today, we took a break from our time in Scottsdale, by heading to the town of Sedona which is about an hour and a half north of Phoenix. Because of the higher elevation, Sedona is about 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix, and a lot less humid, so it was a welcomed relief. If you have never been to Sedona, imagine the town of Radiator Springs from the movie Cars. Not so much the town, but the beautiful mountain rock landscape. It is my first time to Sedona, and I was impressed with its natural beauty. Here are some pictures of Sedona.
Sedona is a quaint town with lots of art galleries and many fine dining restaurants. The good thing about eating in Sedona besides the fine food is that you have a majestic view of the the the many rock formations from anywhere you choose to eat. Its a top destination for retired people for its natural beauty and clean living. In fact, the highlight of Sedona for me was reconnecting with a former co-worker at BART who retired to Sedona. Retirement and clean living has done my friend Jerry Kilpatrick good as he looks about 10 years younger than he did at BART. It was good to catch up with Jerry because Jerry was kind of my professional mentor when I started working at BART 13 years ago. Jerry was always encouraging me to find something better outside of BART, while others were telling me what a great situation I was in and to stat put. I finally took Jerry’s advice last year, and am much happier for it. It was good to update Jerry on what I am now doing, and to introduce him to my family.
