Outdoor Office

One of the good things about self employed is the ability to work from anywhere. I do some work at home, and when the kids make it hard to concentrate, I take my laptop and head to the coffee shop. As long as I have my laptop, a free wi-fi connection, and my cell phone, I am in business. Being self employed has also allowed me to take daily afternoon walks around my neighborhood. I enjoy these walks not only for the exercise, and to get out in the fresh air, it also gives me a chance to be alone with my thoughts and think. After about a 45 minute walk, I end up in this area just around the corner from my house. Because I can get good cell reception at this spot, I stop here to return phone calls, and to follow up on things I have thought of while walking. This is the view from my “outdoor office”. Not only is it a good view of a canyon, it is better than a high-rise view, since I am actually outdoors enjoying the weather while working.
